New Stone Age ruins found in Xiantouling in Dapeng indicate that humans inhabited the area at least 6,700 years ago. There are 51 city-level protected sites around Shenzhen, including Zhongying Street, Dapeng Fortress, Qing Dynasty Hakka architecture, Song Dynasty Young Emperor’s Tomb and Chiwan Battery.

Originally conceived by Hong Kong businessman Huang Jiang, who began production with a dozen artists in 1989, the village has grown in leaps and bounds over the past 30 years. Today, about 15,000 artists and craftsmen work in more than 40 factories and 800 studios and workshops here.

Beautiful Coastline

Shenzhen boasts 260.5 kilometers of coastline, 51 islands of various sizes and more than 20 beaches that are for traveling.
