update 2022/03/10

Many companies handle free gifts & crafts not only as simple as giving gifts, but also hope that customers or gift recipients can remember their own company, their own brand, their own website, or scan the QR code to follow them while conveying their feelings or money return in future sales.

Due to the variety of gifts and different materials, the size or type of the customized LOGO of the gifts is also different, and the colors of the gifts are also colorful.

Therefore, in the LOGO customization of gifts, we must select the appropriate LOGO making method of the gifts according to the situation. What is different or how to make different customized LOGO? In which material to make best effect of custom LOGO? How to customize your logo? Let us give a detailed introduction for custom LOGO making method in gifts & crafts customization to help you make better judgments and choices as below:

1. Embossing Press.

Also called Gift custom LOGO stamp, LOGO debossing, custom LOGO pressure embossed, LOGO embossing stamped. The embossing press has an embossing (or forward) end and rear end, and is constructed of a base frame having a lower arm extending from the rear end to the embossing end and having structure for supporting a lower die or die-holder at the embossing end. The embossing press further has a lever extending upwardly from the rear end and forwardly to a position over the embossing end, the lever supporting portion pivots yet has removable supported thereon the anchoring end of an operating lever. The embossing press has an operating lever having an anchoring end that is pivotally and removable supported by the lever supporting portion, a lower die to die-holder fixedly held in snap-fit engagement with the structure for supporting the lower die, an upper die or die-holder having an integral spring arm extending toward the rear end, the integral spring arm having a fixed end remote from the upper die. Adjustable press arm would supply embossing and debossing effect on the surface of item. This technology comes from leather press originally, while it’s developed to make LOGO later. There is no color on LOGO applied by this way, just a simple press by force on the item, which makes it has shortage on small range of suitable items. However, it is fast and economic way to make LOGO.

Embossing Press is mainly used for advertising leather bag, notebook, keychain, wallet, belt and straps, advertising box and other products.

2. Embossing Foil.

Also called Gift custom LOGO-Bronzing, LOGO foil embossing, custom LOGO foil embossed, color LOGO hot stamped, also known as "hot stamping" or bronzing in simple word. Foil Embossing is combining both foil stamping and embossing, either with a foil embossing die or embossing an image that was previously flat foil stamped (known as "stamp and bump"). It is a printing decoration process. The metal plate is heated, foil is applied and gold text or patterns are embossed on the print. With the rapid development of hot stamping foil and packaging industry, the application of anodized aluminum hot stamping is more and more extensive.

This LOGO making method are widely use in bronzing of book covers, bronzing of gift boxes, bronzing of trademarks and boxes of cigarettes, wine, and clothing, bronzing of greeting cards, invitations, pens, etc. There are many colors and patterns, and special editions can also be customized according to specific requirements. Hot stamping substrates include general paper, ink printing paper such as gold and silver ink, plastic (PE, PP, PVC, engineering plastics such as ABS, etc.), leather, wood and other special materials.

Its feature is clear and beautiful so the color is bright and eye-catching, wear-resistant and weather-resistant. On the foiled printed cigarette labels, the application of bronzing technology accounts for more than 85%. And bronzing in graphic design can play the role of finishing touch and highlighting the theme of the design, especially for trademarks and registered names, the effect is more significant.

3. Silk Screen Printing.

Also called custom LOGO screen printed, silk printing LOGO. Silk screen printing is a stencil printing technology. It is where the logo design is on a silkscreen. Then, the ink gets pressed through the silkscreen and transferred onto the item. Its principle is to make the ink pass through the stencil by pressure, so that the ink is transferred to the substrate according to the version to form the required image or text. Screen printing is one of the most used printing technologies on the market, which is also related to its characteristics of large single printing volume, low price, bright colors, long shelf life and short construction period.

Screen printing is a more commonly used LOGO printing method in gift customization. It can be printed on plastic, metal, wood, ceramic, leather, carton and other materials.

It is characterized by low price, fast printing speed and bright colors. For some companies, if they want to maintain the color of their corporate brand LOGO, especially those with Pantone color values, they can consider using silk screen printing to print their LOGO.

Of course, it also has some disadvantages. If you often use gifts, or your hands sweat and rub frequently, the LOGO will fall off. Therefore, when printing, we try not to print in the frequently used positions.

There is also a bit of screen printing that requires plate making. For example, if we sometimes want to print a person's name on each pen, then silk screen printing is more difficult, and the cost of plate making is relatively high. It is not as convenient and flexible as engraving.

Common gifts LOGO such as pens, keychain, gift U disks, and cups are mostly made of silkscreen.

4. Digital Laser Printing.

Also called Gift custom LOGO laser imprinting, color LOGO laser imprinted, color LOGO laser press, laser LOGO printing. It uses a laser beam to remove or oxidize a layer of the surface material. The beam is controlled using computer software and directed mirrors. Contact with the beam changes the appearance and properties of the surface material to create the programmed patterns. It is to place the sheet material between the upper and lower molds, change the thickness of the material under the action of pressure, and fill the extruded material in the convex and concave parts of the mold cavity with undulating fine lines. A computer painting style which is press writes characters or patterns on the surface of the work piece. Like many gift notebooks used by many companies, they also use embossing and embossing.

This printing method shows that the LOGO has a certain concave and convex three-dimensional effect, and it is integrated with the gift itself. There is no problem of inaccurate color matching and color fading.

5. Metal Embossed LOGO.

Also called LOGO embossing, LOGO relief, metal LOGO cutting, make metal LOGO shape. It is a process making Logo emerged like a relief painting. The embossing process uses pressure and force to raise the text or visual on a piece of metal. The metal of your choosing is sandwiched between two die cuts — referred to as the female and male dies — and is then squeezed and pressurized together. The end result is a raised text, similar to that on a credit card that stands out and is readable in all environments and conditions. Embossed metal tags are the industrial labeling solution for identifying products through harsh manufacturing processes and prolonged outdoor exposure. The embossed (raised) characters withstand can be read even after painting or galvanizing. Debossed tags are used in molds for identifying molded and cast products. When a tag with debossed (lowered) characters is fitted into the mold, a permanent impression is made of the characters into the finished product. Raised characters remain legible after sandblasting, acid cleaning, painting, and galvanizing operations.

Adding an embossed nameplate or decal to your business information or products can put you ahead of the competition. With a variety of metals to choose from for your custom embossed metal tags and the freedom to input your own desired text or image.

6. LOGO Epoxy Back Glued.

Also called LOGO crystal glue, LOGO epoxy dome imprint, Epoxy Coating LOGO, custom LOGO epoxy glue form, LOGO epoxy glue drop cover. An epoxy dome imprint is a means of displaying a logo on a promotional item clearly but unobtrusively. A small version of the LOGO is rendered on a base, which is then overlaid with a clear bubble of acrylic epoxy. The dome is then affixed to the promotional item with permanent adhesive. The epoxy crystal glue is composed of high-purity epoxy resin, curing agent and other modifications. The cured product has the characteristics of water resistance, chemical resistance and crystal clear.

The use of the crystal glue can not only protect the surface of the craft product, but also increase the surface gloss and brightness, and further increase the surface decoration effect. It is suitable for surface decoration and protection of handicrafts made of metal, ceramics, glass, plexiglass and other materials.

LOGO with epoxy crystal glue is often applied to keychain & keyring, sticker, bus cards or some decorative products.

The characteristics of this process are bright and transparent appearance, strong three-dimensional sense, and bright colors, but if it is not done well, or if it takes a long time, the bonding is not strong or the external ambient temperature is too high, and it is easy to fall off or go away.

7. UV printing.

Also called color LOGO UV printed, LOGO UV making customized. UV printing is a printing process in which the ink is dried and cured by ultraviolet light, and the ink containing a photo sensitizer needs to be matched with a UV curing lamp. UV printing is a unique method of digital printing utilizing ultraviolet (UV) light to dry or cure ink, adhesives or coatings almost as soon as it’s hit the paper, or aluminum, foam board or acrylic - in fact, as long as it fits in the printer, the technique can be used to print on almost anything.

The UV generally referred to in the traditional printing industry is the printing effect process, which is to coat a layer of varnish (including bright, matte, inlaid crystals, glitter powder, etc.) on a piece of printed pattern you want, mainly to increase The brightness and artistic effect of the product protect the surface of the product. Its hardness is high, it is resistant to corrosion and friction, and it is not easy to appear scratches or sending to fix.

8. LOGO Embroidered.

Also called Embroider LOGO label, LOGO embroidering, custom LOGO in embroider. Embroidered logo refers to the logo embroidered on the more obvious parts of clothes or shoes and socks by machine, usually embroidered clothes brand logo, such as Nike, Lining and so on. Embroidery refers to clothing that has a pattern or logo stitched into its fabric. Embroidery is done with a needle and thread. Embroidery is best for creating logos on a thicker garment, such as a polo shirts or jumpers. Embroidery on garments is long lasting and durable. Embroidery may cost more than traditional printing, however the longevity makes it cost effective. With larger designs, we would recommend printing over embroidery. Not all designs are suitable for embroidery and therefore you should take this into consideration. For best results, avoid heavy gradients and a high use of complicated color palates. It's often used for smaller logos and is popular for the stand-out effect that it creates.

It is widely use on garments and cap, bag, some promotional crafts such as keychain, key ring ornaments, nowadays, some people make LOGO embroidered on face mask in this Covid-19 pandemic period so that everybody can see it. Want embroidered my LOGO on shirt? This one is good choice with cheap cost.

9. LOGO Hollow Out.

Also called cutting LOGO holes out, LOGO empty digging, LOGO hollow carving, it is cutting out a pattern on product surface according to LOGO shape. Hollowing is a carving technique that creates patterns or words that penetrate objects. The outside appears to be a complete pattern, but the inside is hollow or inlaid with small hollow objects. It is to remove the inside of (something) to make an empty space in (something), for example, the kids were hollowing out pumpkins with a smile face. Hollow out LOGO is a kind of form (something) by digging or cutting the inside of material in LOGO shape so that it appears.

In contemporary times, hollowing LOGO technology is more widely used in advertisement field. This LOGO hollow carving technique can be widely used in stone carving, jade carving, wood carving, ivory carving and other artistic carving fields, and even fruit carving and flour carving also use this carving technique in large numbers. Its biggest advantage is to give the audience a strong visual impact, especially with the lighting help.

10. Digital Laser Engrave.

Also called Gift custom LOGO laser digital engraving, computer LOGO laser engraved. Digital Laser engrave is an emerging custom process based on CNC technology. The principle is to generate a strong laser beam through the digital laser machine, engraving logo by laser gun controlled by computer so that the material to be processed has a physical reaction of melting and gasification at the moment of contact with the laser so as to achieve the purpose of processing customization.

Laser engraving has many advantages, such as: more economical and environmental protection, strong effect control, faster production, 3D effect etc. However, laser engraving also has the disadvantage of high cost and high technical requirements. Therefore, at present, laser engraving is mostly used for the processing and customization of plastic, crystal, acrylic, glass products, metal and wooden products.

Gift customization companies generally use this processing method when customizing gifts on metal, crystal, especially on metal or crystal keychain in glass.

The above is the introduction of typical ten different ways of LOGO printing method for customized advertising business gifts.

There is more similar way of making LOGO, such as LOGO thermal transfer, also called heat transfer printing, thermal transfer printing is a method of lamination heat printing. The principle is to transfer the designed thermal transfer film to the surface of the object by hot pressing to complete the printing process. The emergence of thermal transfer makes up for the shortcomings of screen printing technology, which cannot control a variety of colors. However, thermal transfer printing will affect the effect due to the original material. For example, the use of thermal transfer printing cloth materials will lead to poor air permeability; white cloth will turn yellow after being printed at high temperature. Therefore, thermal transfer printing is more suitable for the printing of high temperature resistant materials such as Plexiglas, metal, plastic, crystal, wood products, and coated paper.

Thermal transfer printing is mainly used for advertising shirts, clothing, hats, advertising cups and other products. The colors are bright, but the air permeability is poor. The material and area of printing have certain requirements based on this method.

While another optional LOGO process method is Double Lay Injection, which means making two different color lay in LOGO shape, usually it is plastic injection process, one lay should be light color or transparent so that LOGO could be seen easily, this method is rarely use because it is high cost.

Of course, with the development of science and technology and the emergence of various processes, we believe there will be more gifts & crafts LOGO printing methods developed, which can make your corporate LOGO better display.
